Cookie Policy

Last updated: January 1, 2025

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar tracking technologies are, how Dotcom Media LLC (“we”, “our”, or “us”) uses them on dotcom-media.net (the “Site”), and the choices you have. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site owner. Similar technologies — such as local storage, session storage, pixels and SDKs — can perform comparable functions; in this policy we refer to them all collectively as “cookies”.

2. Categories of cookies we may use

2.1 Strictly necessary

These cookies are required for the Site to function and cannot be switched off. They include cookies set by our hosting provider (Cloudflare) for security, traffic routing, abuse prevention and bot detection — for example __cf_bm and cf_clearance. Without them, parts of the Site may not work properly.

2.2 Performance and analytics (optional)

If active, these cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the Site by collecting and reporting aggregated information. They allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve performance. They do not directly identify individual visitors.

Examples of providers we may use:

  • Google Analytics — cookies such as _ga, _ga_<ID>, _gid, retained for up to 13 months.
  • Cloudflare Web Analytics — cookieless and privacy-respecting; collects only aggregate metrics.

2.3 Marketing and advertising (optional)

If active, these cookies are used to deliver content and advertisements relevant to you. They may build a profile of your interests and show you relevant adverts on other sites.

Examples of providers we may use:

  • Meta (Facebook) Pixel — cookies such as _fbp, fr.
  • Google Ads — cookies such as _gcl_au, NID.
  • LinkedIn Insight Tag — cookies such as li_sugr, bcookie.

These third parties act as independent data controllers for the data they collect. Please refer to their respective privacy policies for details.

3. Third-party services

Some content embedded on the Site — for example fonts loaded from Google Fonts, libraries loaded from jsDelivr or Cloudflare CDN, or icons from Font Awesome — may set their own cookies or transfer data to those providers when you load the page. We use only reputable providers and load assets over HTTPS.

4. How long cookies stay on your device

  • Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser.
  • Persistent cookies remain for a set period (from a few minutes up to 24 months, depending on the cookie) or until you delete them.

5. Your choices

You have several ways to control cookies:

  • Browser settings — most browsers let you block, delete or be alerted before a cookie is set. See the help section of your browser for instructions (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge).
  • Opt-out tools — for advertising cookies, you can use industry opt-out tools such as youronlinechoices.eu or optout.aboutads.info.
  • Do Not Track — some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no consistent industry standard for responding to this signal; we currently do not respond to it.

Please be aware that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of this and many other websites you visit.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, regulation or our practices. The latest version will always be available at this URL with the “Last updated” date at the top.
